This looks sweet. Disco Dan for those not in the know was the all time graffiti king in DC and this is undisputed. He destroyed shit with a funky old school style. The doc looks great as it tells the story of Washington D.C one of the places the hardest hit by the crack epidemic of the mid 80’s. Some would say D.C never recovered. This is a must see for me.

True Story…man listen;
Growing up in D.C., saw Disco Dan’s Pumps’ all over the neighborhood (throughout the District) from Park Road to Berry Farms. Disco Dan was the undisputed King of D.C., no question. He was rocking these ‘High-Heel’ pumps on walls; top to bottom ; fully blown’ all different kinds of em’ you would see these things from like three blocks off ‘boom’. Nobody knew who the cat was but he was blowing everybody’s wigs back’still… Ha-ha! Sometimes there was a message he’d put up there beside the art…some cryptic passage. All I can say is Thank You Dante’ ; for exposing this amazing Artist and bringing to light a phantom legend of American Art from the Nation’s Capitol . The story of Disco Dan being told is long overdue and deserves the attention of anyone who wants to know about how Street Art serves society (even in collapse) Washington went through some hard times no doubt but there are still beautiful things which can be shown to arise from even the darkest of situations, Disco Dan was definitely one of my hero’s (not even knowing who he was) he inspired me personally and affected my path in life; for this article and for this creative pioneer (genius)I am filled with awe, respect and gratitude/ Triple Crown Material.
