Today is John Coltranes Birthday, he would have been 84 today if he had not passed in 1967. His music had a profound influence on my life, he proved spirituality can exist in music on a deep level. His music changed my life, made me love jazz and is one of the greatest gifts my father ever bestowed upon me. His music has let me know I am not alone in the world many times and all sans any vocals. His music is steeped with emotion,spirituality and a sense of import that music rarely hints at. Salute you Mr. Coltrane I can hear you blowing way up in heaven and I can feel it touching my heart and soul thank you so much!
