DOZE GREEN:NEW WORKS @LEVINE GALLERY NYC
Doze Green showed some new works at Levine in the project room concurrently with Josh Keyes show in the main room. Doze is one of my favorite painters of all time a total genius with a formidable history from BBoyin to designing clothes for Lifes a beach and Tribal in the early 90’s to the future primative live painting events in SF during the mid 90’s till now as he has several years ago made the leap in to the world of the fine arts.
Doze invented the graffiti mug or character as it has become to be known. Half the world has been influenced by the guy my one question is why is not more recognized as the brilliant painter and culturalist that he is. My one thought is polititricks is the main obstacle in his path and for that I say boo, as a painter he is unparalleled in my eyes and he continues to evolve and create new interesting work all these years later. Doze should be hailed as a national treasure and this new work is nothing short of brilliant
The last pic is my own Doze line drawing I copped a few ago…I look at it daily and it makes me smile, it may be my favorite piece in my whole house as Doze has been a deep influence on my personally since my High School years and watching his evolution from BBoy to masterful painter is a beautiful thing to watch just wish more people were watching ya dig?

DOZE IS STILL EVOLVING! I GOT TO WATCH HIM PAINT OUR FTC JAPAN STORE FOR THE GRAND OPENING. THESE NEW ONES ARE AMAZING.
