EUNJUNG HWANG: 1,3,8 CHARACTERS@ NYC STUDIO GALLERY

Uncategorized November 24th, 2009

I was pushing down the street the other day and stumbled upon this. I looked up and saw this huge balloon on top of a building on Suffolk street and I dug it. it reminded me of Nara’s work a bit,playful, fun,engaging and interactive to an extent. I popped in a dug what I saw. I also liked the idea of stumbling upon something by accident with no preconceived notion of what it was about,what the objectives of the art were and what the artists agenda was in reference to the work. I was in to this idea and the work it was plain and simple fun,light hearted and engaging.

Here’s a few painitngs:

There were also some cool animated shorts being projected on the walls of the gallery. Here’s a few pics of them;

The show was cool. I dug it and if you have kids I believe they will as well so bring them it’s a inter active environment and the people at the gallery are chillywilly. Good stuff glad I was skating by and looked up now I got another artist to check for and her name is Eunjung Hwang! go peep the show at NYC STUDIO GALLERY located at 154 Stanton st nyc! http://www.nystudiogallery.com/

Enjoy
