SUBCULTURE CAPITAL

Went to the show at Consolidated hardware the other night. Good stuff from some good artists…Nice space good hang and I got to build with Rammallzee for a few which is always a pleasure!

The incomparable Ramalzee…Renaissance man….brilliant artist and a totally unique individual

Rostarr…digging this stuff always have….Recently met Ro he’s a really nice cat and his work is really evolving, I love this recent direction the white on black scrolls were exceptional….I want one!

Rostarr himself

Kostas Serementis was also in the show…I had seen this stuff recently at his studio and dug it then…it was that much better to see it in a gallery setting interacting with other art on the walls…..Really good stuff

Kostas himself….He once kicked some very real science to me and saved a mutual friend a ass whipping something I am thankful for in retrospect….Kostas hes a good dude and a great artist I’m glad I got to know him on multiple levels

Ronnie Cutrone……I have seen Ronnies work since the 80’s. I was kind of surprised to see him in this show to be honest….His work hasn’t evolved a whole lot to me over the years which is a bit puzzling to me….This is another reason why art is so great every one will have they’re own opinion about this being that art is a subjective medium and open to personal evaluations. Not trying to knock anyone’s creativity just speaking my mind and creating dialog which is another reason why art is so amazing it creates dialog and is thought provoking on many levels.

Old School Ronnie Cutrone you be the judge

All in all a really nice show, good artists saw a few friends and got to met Kenji Hirata who is having a opening tonight at Joshua Liner…Kenji is dope as can be go peep it if you can!

And with that I say enjoy I have been doing maintenance on the sight of late therefor I have been a bit absent in dropping art and music of late….It will be 100pct fixed by Monday and I will then resume my usual manic pace of blogging art, culture and my life in NYC

Enjoy
