My cyber pal Ica ( Pronounced Eyeca) sent me this I never knew who did this record and I always loved it,it’s so 80’s electro and so soulful and funky. Me I am a big fan of anything digital/artificial(Drum machines) that end up being incorporated in to something funky and soulful ( Thomas Dolby,Gary Numan) I never dug Carly Simon too tuff but this is just brilliant. Most of you other than King Emz and Peter Agoston probably don’t know this but I am a electro disco 80s fiend and stuff like this or Junior, Old Terrence Trent Darby ( Wishing Well particularly)Secret Weapon, Level 42, Mtume etc,etc is my ish all day long.
This was a Ica’s little pre birthday treat I love finding new music and lately I been really enjoying music again maybe because it’s not my main means of earning a buck it has become a lot easier to listen without thinking about it as a gig. That leads me to this equation, I will be posting more music in the next few weeks stuff that makes me feel good and makes me believe in the power of music. Some days the best 30 mins or hour of my whole day is when I’m on the train listening to my ipod lost in a crowd of strangers having a enlightened moment listening to music due to the fact I am grooving too something amazing and personal in a crowd of strangers. It reminds me why I made music in the first place and makes me wanna make some music again if only to make myself smile on the inside.
Music it’s a powerful thing when you strip away the business and just let yourself enjoy, so listen to this and smile I say!

The whole album this is from is dope—late model, post-disco Chic tracks and Rogers/Edwards productions. It’s the soundtrack to some ‘82 movie no one remembers called “Soup For One.” You probably know the theme song, which was sampled in that Euro house track “Lady” by Mojo (or something like that) from a few years back. It’s one of my favorite Chic jams-very sad, yet funky tune:

Yeah I have the album it’s pretty good. Chic they were monsterous producers some of the best stuff ever made including there own stuff. I’m gonna start posting more music just shit I dig just cause……I love this jam!
