ART COLLECTOR FILES PART 2: SELIM VAROL

Here’s some of my friend Selim’s collection. He had so much more stuff I saw at his office including many beautiful sports cars but I dropped my mac last day in Germany and lost a gang of images. Here’s what I still had in my camera.

The flag and guns are by Selim the painting on the left is Swoon, the one in the middle is DFace who Selim has quite a few pieces by

Selim loves Shepard’s work and is one of his biggest collectors in the world…This is just a small sampling of his Shepard Fairey collection

Shepard original…..I love Ali he is my all time favorite sports icon he’s getting a post soon my pops loves him so much it’s unreal…my dads house was an alter to Ali during the 70’s!

Marc Ryden piece right here…Ryden is one of the central figures in the Lowbrow art movement….This is worth a pretty penny right here

Selim like Everlast is a big Kaws collector….I’m kicking myself for not buying one of the bus stop pieces back in the day

These are by Faile another one of Selim’s and my personal  favorites!

And this I must say is my favorite of all it’s a Twist aka Barry Mcgee piece and it’s amazing!

I am not a huge figure collector but tomorrow I am going to post Selim’s figure collection it’s next level and he is one of the biggest collector of designer figures in the world as the book Toy Giants will attest to:

I always love seeing a serious collector’s collection it’s a trip to see what people dig and want to invest in as art these days is perhaps the only safe investment one can make……It’s kicking real estate in the ass right about now ya heard?
