TODAYS MUSICAL NUMBER:BLUE ORCHID-THE WHITE STRIPES
With the hipster nation being the style de norm for the kiddies today I think sometimes we forgot who started the garage/indy rock trend. It was the Strokes and these dudes more or less with The White Stripes being one of the best rock bands of the last 10 years hipster or no hipster smack. Jack Whites a bad muthertrucker no 2 ways about it. Part Sabbath and part Jimmy Page at times with a healthy does of Dave Davies ( The guitarist from The Kinks hence Jacks Gretsch he tends to play just like Dave for that sick tone!) He is a modern guitar hero albeit a sloppy,blues based raw one, the dude is a riff master like James Hettfield, Eddie Van Halen, Tony Iomi and of course the master of them all Jimmy Page!
Listen to this and remember why The White Stripes are the best of all these hipster bands parading around these days….Rumor has it it’s really him playing drums on the records and after seeing em live a few times I think its the truth cause live Meg is well…… shes cute behind the kit!

hipster band? no…save that definition for bands like le tigre and fannypack. it takes away from the musical importance of these kinds of people in this kind of generation…
