MODE 2
Mode2 my friend from overseas and a great artist sent me these today. Mode is a great cat, a thinker, a BBoy a rebel and a student of all cultures. Here’s a few images he sent me yesterday of some upcoming works he is showing in Germany soon.I am honored to be deemed worthy of these images. I meet Mode about 7/8 years ago in Paris with my friend Thiebau, my Ex lady Mary and Delta the amazing Dutch artist who I have never reconnected with again.
We spent a few great days paling around with these cats in Paris. It coincided with Mode’s Carhart catalog ( He did a bulk of the illustrations in the catalog which is a work of art in itself) release party. It was a wild, fun filled, amazing week/weekend. Mode already knew a lot about me and me about him, we had mutual friends ( Doze Green in particular) and we exchanged ideas,thoughts,points of view, smoked a gang of hash and I realized for maybe the first time that with the advent of the Internet the world was going to become increasingly global in it’s cultural exchanges.
Mode is an impressive cat. He’s a deep thinker, a quirky sort with a great wit. He is self depricating,hilarious and amazingly talented. Glad to call him a friend and beyond that a peer or contemparary. Time for a 1 man Mode2 show in NYC I think….Anybody listening?
