BOOGIE NYHC SHOTS

Me and my partner in crime Boogie went to see Rancid, BloodClot and Sick of it All the other night and he took these shots check em out: My man Mitts and SD rocking a OG Iceman shirt…DMS Family repping for the Old School!

John Joseph aka John BloodClot OG NYHC legend and myself. John preached PMA to me as a youth and was and is a serious life influence on me. His book The Evolution of a CroMagnon is an amazing book and John’s a pretty amazing cat. There are people you just know your gonna be friends with for the rest of your life he is one of those. I always looked up to John growing up, he watched out for me and my friends big time and has the heart of a lion. Glad to call him a friend for the last 20 years. John is NY Hardcore.

New York Hard Core or NYHC holds a lot of memories for me, it was one of the first youth movements that I was swept up in and opened the door to a lot of other creative things in my life. It got me off my block, out of the hood and into something positive. It taught me to be an individual and to look beneath the surface, not to take things strictly at face value and to think for myself. For that and all the life long friends I made from that scene I say thanks for the inspiration and brotherhood that encompasses that movement and that moment in time. Glad I can still connect to that energy all these years later it says a lot about the vitality of that scene.
