LOCKED AND LOADED AT JOSHUA LINER GALLERY
I stopped by the inaugural show at the newly minted Joshua Liner gallery and checked out the group show they have hanging entitled Locked and Loaded. I dug the show lots of good work and I got turned on to Oliver Vernon whose work I wasn’t previously familiar with and who’s stuff I really really dug!
Besides that the usual suspects were included in this group show but enough of me here’s some images of the work:
Marc Dean Veca does Popeye justice
Oliver Vernon: I really dug his pieces…….Need to cop one!
Another Oliver Vernon I really dug his work!
Oliver Vernon the guys really good I need to know more about him his work moved me!
Pat Rocha I like this painting a lot kind of reminds me of Rene Magritte one of my favorites
Another Pat Rocha
Robert Hardgrave he has a show upcoming at the gallery….Good stuff
Matsu piece right here
Sean Barber amazing piece
Josh Keyes this kind of reminds me of Blaine Fontana
Damon Soule I always dig his stuff
Damon Soule again this piece is really psychedelic to me….
Travis Louie is a personal favorite of mine……He has his own entire world of character’s …..A total original!
This Chris Mendoza piece is sick…..He had a few other really amazing pieces as well but my flicks just didn’t do them justice!
I was feeling this Kenji Hirata piece…..His work is always vibrant and full of motion
David Chong Lee was another new discovery for me….I dug this one
Heidi Tailefer was another new find for me….I like the fact there were some new names in this show..It’s good to see new artist showing in the lowbrow scene
Another from Heidi Tailefer
And last but never least Ron English my personal hero…Ron is political, funny, insightful and just a great painter…My pics don’t really do these justice but I’m working on my photo skills really soon I promise!
Another from the master:
And another I’m sure you’ve all seen these before but let me indulge myself please!
And the show program!
Congrats to the Joshua Liner gallery cat’s curated a dope show, sorry I didn’t post more some of my pics were bogus. I wanted to show the Craola piece and the Futura joint but my flicks weren’t up to par my bad like I said I’m working on it. Lots of great art around town this week another reason why New York City is the best place in the world…..Now if I could just stay here for a few these days………..
