Uncategorized December 6th, 2007

Just got off my plane and I ran over to the F.A.M.E collective show at an amazing space located on park btwn 22nd and 23rd in South Beach. I was psyched at the collection of artist and the work was honestly amazing. Some of my favorite artist were showing. They included: Stash2, Ron English, Kenji Hirata, Shawn Barber, Glen Barr, Chris Mars, Mars-1, Aiko Nakagawa,Craig Simpkins (Craola), Futura, Marc Dean Veca, Blaine Fontana, Sam Flores, and Dave White.

There were also several artist whose work I wasn’t familiar with showing all of which I was totally into they were: Sean Christopher,The Miami Ink cat Chris Gaver( Master tattoo artist),Tomookazu Matsuyama, Christian Mendoza, Damon Soule,Koralie, Ben Tour, Amy Sol and Mike Ming. Tomookazu Matsuama blew my mind his work is amazing. I have to mention Kris Kuksi his sculptures were amazing so intricate and original. He has taken model building to a unthought of level honestly I was blown away but enough talk lets look at some art.
Kenji Hirata his work is amazing here’s a few pieces:
More Kenji

and another

The amazing Ron English had some dope pieces. Ron is like a modern Rembrandt his renderings are sick he will never be confused with a graphic designer he is a TRUE PAINTER!

More English his is perhaps the most skilled artist in all of the low brow culture

One more Ron English the master!

Blake Fontana had some great stuff in the show

Another one from Blake Fontana

So much stuff at the show it was really special if I were to curate a show I would hold it up against this one.
Jeremy Fish his stuff is always really good!

Aiko Nakagawa formerly ofnthe Faile collective had some great stuff here as well!

One more

This is a newcomer Kris Kuksi he is amazing. He has taken the art of model building to a next level, his detailing and augmenting of pre existing images and figures is unreal. I highly suggest buying something of his as I see a big upside to him. His potential is unbelievable

Kris Kuksi detail

One more piece I swear the images do not do his work justice he is like a modern Gieger totally sick!

Marc Dean Veca he is offically a big dog these days and post his show at Levine is in a zone his work also must be seen in person to fully get it I believe

Stash with a cool sculpture

Tomookazu Matsuya is simply amazing. He is someone I wasn’t familiar with but now I will be forever. His work is beautiful, playful and soothing. Theres a distinct oragami vibe to his work. I love it

Another
